The Skyra Summer Acting Intensives will immerse students in a hands-on acting program that will teach them the dos and don’ts of auditioning, scene study, character development, improvisation, and what it’s like to be in stage productions and on a film set. Our program offers high-quality training from top industry professionals and an opportunity for performers to be a part of something unique: a professional short film production that you can share with agents, casting directors, friends & family.
Whether you are an aspiring actor in stage or film or simply looking to explore the craft, Skyra Studios summer intensive offers a safe environment where you can learn from seasoned professional actors and directors. The intensive will touch on core acting techniques such as Meisner, Stanislavski, Strasberg, Stella Adler and more. Through improvisation, script analysis and the study of monologue materials, students are given the tools necessary to create a believable performance. Every child will learn the fundamentals in breathing, posture, articulation and how to create characters through improvisation and movement. Students will also be introduced to all aspects of film and television auditions. The actors will learn the dos and don’ts of commercial auditioning while exploring the physical adjustments necessary for the camera. Whether your child dreams of being on Broadway or on the silver screen, our goal is to have every student leave with the skills they need to succeed.
